My Experience During the Virtual Exchange Program in QMB 3250: Business Statistics
I wanted to take a moment to share my experience during the virtual exchange program in QMB 3250: Statistics for Business Decisions. It provided me with the opportunity to connect with students from other countries, which made the learning experience truly enriching and memorable.
One of the things I enjoyed most about the program was the user-friendly software we used to record videos and give feedback on other students’ presentations. The platform was easy to navigate, and experimenting with various tools like emojis, filters, and voice recording features made the whole process fun and creative. Creating presentations for my peers to learn from became an enjoyable activity, and I was able to focus on making my content both informative and engaging.
Through this exchange, I learned the importance of feedback and how essential it is to structure feedback in a way that is meaningful and constructive. It’s one thing to receive feedback, but I’ve also come to appreciate how impactful it is to give feedback that is clear, respectful, and tailored to the recipient's unique perspectives. This skill has carried over into my role in student leadership organizations, where I’ve been practicing how to deliver critical feedback more effectively. Whether it’s related to event planning or organizational processes, being mindful of different cultural backgrounds and individual beliefs has improved my ability to help others make positive changes.
A highlight of the experience was connecting with students from Tecnológico de Monterrey. I was particularly excited about this because I have friends who attend this university back home, so it was great to finally engage with students from there in an academic setting. The conversations we had were both enlightening and enjoyable, and it felt like a personal connection that made the exchange even more special.
All in all, this virtual exchange program was a fun and refreshing experience, one that stands out from the more routine aspects of coursework. It provided me with a unique opportunity to expand my global perspective, practice valuable communication skills, and build relationships with international peers. I’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of it, and it’s an experience I won’t soon forget.
