Study Abroad: Rome Italy

During my study abroad experience in Rome, Italy, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in all that the city has to offer—archaeology, museums, art, food, fashion, and so much more! Rome is a vibrant, modern city that seamlessly blends its rich history with a booming economy, leading the way from the past to the future. Living in the heart of Italy’s capital, I completed courses while fully indulging in the Italian culture. The program was perfect for me as a UF student pursuing a business major, but it also welcomed non-business students who wanted to take upper-division electives in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It was an experience that allowed me to grow academically while enjoying the best of Rome’s timeless charm.

My experience in the virtual exchange program for QMB 3250: Statistics for Business Decisions was both enriching and memorable, offering the chance to connect with students from different countries such as Mexico, Ecuador and the UK. This experience taught me the importance of giving meaningful and constructive feedback, a skill I've since applied in my student leadership roles. Overall, the program expanded my global perspective, honed my communication skills, and allowed me to build valuable relationships with international peers, making it a unique and rewarding experience.

Virtual Exchange: Global Solutions Conversations

International Research in Ecuador

Participating in the Global Solutions Conversations virtual exchange program was a transformative experience that expanded my understanding of global issues and cross-cultural collaboration. Over six sessions, I worked with over 200 students from Jordan, Iraq, and Iran to address pressing global challenges, applying the design thinking process to create community-driven solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This experience strengthened my skills in teamwork, critical thinking, and cross-cultural communication, while deepening my commitment to sustainability and innovation. Ultimately, the program demonstrated the power of youth-driven change and the collective action needed to create a sustainable future.

My research journey in Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands was an eye-opening experience that deepened my understanding of nature and entrepreneurship. In the Galápagos, I was amazed by the delicate balance of the ecosystem and the innovative research aimed at preserving it, while also witnessing the ingenuity of local entrepreneurs on the islands, who overcame limited resources with determination.  In Quito, I engaged in more formal research, conducting interviews that provided diverse perspectives on culture, entrepreneurship, and public policy.  This trip broadened my academic and personal growth, offering valuable insights into eco-tourism, business practices, and the resilience of both nature and entrepreneurs.
