Global Solutions Conversations Participant, Cohort XI
Participating in the Global Solutions Conversations virtual exchange program was a transformative experience that broadened my understanding of global issues, cross-cultural collaboration, and innovative problem-solving. Over six interactive sessions, I had the opportunity to collaborate with over 200 students from Jordan, Iraq, and Iran, engaging in meaningful discussions about pressing global challenges while sharing diverse cultural perspectives.
A key aspect of the program was applying the design thinking process to develop community-driven solutions to challenges related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Working in diverse teams, we identified key sustainability issues and co-created over three innovative solutions that emphasized social impact, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.
Through brainstorming, prototyping, and refining our ideas, we developed structured proposals that addressed real-world problems in a feasible and impactful manner.
Our final solutions were presented to partners of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, reinforcing the importance of global collaboration in addressing complex societal issues. This experience enhanced my skills in teamwork, critical thinking, and cross-cultural communication, while deepening my commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The Global Solutions Conversations program showed me the power of youth-driven change and how collective action can drive meaningful impact worldwide. It was an inspiring opportunity to not only learn from others but to also contribute ideas that could shape a better, more sustainable future.
